The
Society of Typographic Arts (STA), the country’s foremost regional association devoted to design and visual
communications. Since its inception in Chicago in 1927, the STA has played
a leading role in making Chicago an international powerhouse in graphic
design, presenting seminars and conferences, and developing publications,
including Trademarks USA (1964), Fifty Years of Graphic Design in Chicago
(1977), Hermann Zapf and His Design Philosophy (1987), and ZYX: 26 Poetic
Portraits (1989). Today, it serves as the driving force in design, presenting
a diverse schedule of programming and sponsoring numerous design tours,
exhibits and local community-building events.

The
Chicago Design Archive (CDA) is North America’s most extensive permanent collection of current and
historical communication design. It concentrates on work from the Chicago
area – one of the world’s most vibrant and innovative centers for design.
It contains more than 1,000 of the most creative pieces from the last 80
years. Artists and designers whose work is represented include Charles
& Ray Eames, Man Ray, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Raymond Loewy, Oswald Cooper,
John Massey, Martin Goldsholl, Art Paul, Dana Arnett, Greg Samata, Rick
Valicenti, Bob Vogele, Herman Zapf and dozens of others.

Plural is a Chicago-based creative studio practice founded in 2008. With a focus
on pursuing meaningful projects, Plural explores new approaches within
the design process, experimenting in a wide range of media including print,
web, video, sound, interactive and installation. Plural has been honored
by the Art Directors Club; Type Directors Club; Cooper-Hewitt National
Design Museum, and numerous magazines, including How, Print, Creative Review,
Taiwan DPI, Gallery/HK, and CommunicationArts. Plural collaborates with
artists, musicians, and cultural and educational institutions, including
the DePaul Art Museum, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Public Media Institute,
House Theatre Company, Volume Gallery, Whistler Bar, Ether Feather Records,
Chicago Architecture Foundation, and Classic Color.

Finch’s Beer, the most recent addition to Chicago’s growing community of craft breweries,
recently released Golden Wing Blonde Ale, a medium-bodied blond ale, and
Cut Throat Pale Ale, a stronger, more bracing ale with more hops. Finch’s
uses the finest ingredients to ensure that each batch measures up to their
standards. Golden Wing and Cut Throat are on tap at selected bars and restaurants
and in cans at stores throughout the Chicago area. Benjamin Finch, owner
