Meet Finkl, a display face that comes in forty two styles. Finkl is inspired by the Finkl & Sons steel mill on Cortland street, Bucktown, Chicago. Maybe you've been by there – molten metal and freshly cut steel, with heat so thick that you don't need a jacket in the dead of winter. You can find Finkl & Sons by following the smell of iron in the air, spotting a trail of ghost signage or listening for the practice space pined by sooty spotlights. If you pass the bridge, the boiling river, and find the stench of steel, you've made it to the mill.

Finkl is an additive face – meant to be layered, inserted and subtracted – just like the steel of the mill. If used decoratively, Finkl aims to emphasize crisp corners and consistently angled shading. If used functionally, you're probably using the wrong typeface.
